ASPECTS
Universe Alpha is governed by 12 Aspects that are involved in all parts of the universe and its entities. The Twelve are as follows: Time, Space, Breath, Blood, Light, Void, Life, Doom, Mind, Heart, Hope, and Rage.
- Each Aspect is paired with another, known as "Opposing Aspects". Opposing Aspects have a complex intertwined relationship, where opposing ones can have a significant effect on the other, whether it be in opposition or combination. Each Aspect has a deity that represents the Aspect and essentially is the Aspect represented in a humanoid form. The descriptions of each Aspect and their corresponding Deity are listed below.
- All Aspect Deities use they/them pronouns as a basis, with some using additional pronouns for the funsies.
> TIME
REALITY - Paired with SPACE
Pretty literal. time itself, how it flows and weaves through the strings of reality, ever marching onward. (Unless you're Zelias or one of their Avatars. But even then, Time does not stop. You stay still and move within it, unable to be pushed by its currents.)
Zelias
- Malicious? Not exactly. Capricious? Very. After so many eons of being alive, one would think they wouldve learned to enjoy peace, but as embodying the aspect of Time, there is no rest for the entity, just an continuous river of force pushing onwards. They enjoy change and strife and find particular interest in entities trying to break free from the confines of time (most will fail, but its funny to watch them try and end up getting lost in the rapids before they were supposed to). They also find humans and their minds interesting to pick at, poking and prodding to see what makes them tick. They won't do anything directly that ends ones Time early, but theyll always be watching if you try to gain Her power without Her permission.
- They treat their Chosen differently, though. Their Chosen gets Her gift of Time, being able to move through it more freely, and sometimes even being able to Manipulate it. But even though they have Their favor, it doesnt mean they Zelias will let them off easy, especially for their Avatars. Zelias' Avatars just mean that they have subjects who won't break as easily- she wont let them, after all. More precious and more powerful pawns at their disposal.
- They treat their fellow aspect deities with at minimum, some amount of respect. They are all part of the same pantheon, after all. Theyre neutral w most of the deities despite a good amount of their domains intersecting with their own, but they don't find it necessary to form deeper relations with most of them. All of them understand their place in this universe and that all of them need to coexist without chaos to keep both the universe and themselves stable. They won't target any other Avatars, but that's about as far as it goes. Coworkers kind of vibe.
- Helianyx: Opposing Aspect. As mentioned earlier, zelias has a bastardly personality towards helianyx. Think of them as uh married but separated on friendly terms. They can exist in the same space and function together when needed but put them in the same room for a lil too long and theyre goin to annoy each other until one of em snaps, and then wait an hour or two and the two of em are back at being snarky.
> SPACE
REALITY - Paired with TIME
Also pretty literal. the fabric of reality around you, and how you and objects sit within the area around you. includes physics. A lot of the physical environment one resides in.
Helianyx
- Indifferent is probably the best way to describe their overall,,, thing. Similarly to Zelias, they've been around for so long that it's hard to find anything particularly interesting, or anything worth putting actual care into, since it'll all pass in a blink of one of their eyes. However, there's an exception to their Avatars, who are made to survive for as long as they see fit. They see Earth as its own ecosystem where their direct involvement is not necessary. Things will come and go, everything will be pushed by the passage of Time, and everything shall remain within the confines of his Space.
- Sure, it's interesting to see how humans function. How their emotions cloud their rationality, and how their rationality fails to account for morality. As an outside observer, they find it fascinating to watch humans do things, but in a way similar to how one can observe wild animals in their natural habitat.
- They find it particularly interesting that over time, some humans have developed their own religion where they worship him as the singular God of this world, alongside an entire cast of other characters that exist only through stories. Half of them believe that the rest of their pantheon are "Angels" and others believe that the rest are "Demons". It's all incredibly funny, isn't it? To believe that there is only one God that is all knowing and benevolent? How... optimistic. Incredibly naive.
- They treat their Chosen with a bit more care than with everyone else. Helianyx will be more present in their lives, lending them a part of their power, whenever they need it. Well, maybe not whenever. But if a Chosen starts relying on their power too much- start to believe that they are a god themselves, to even be an equal- well, such a Chosen no longer is deserving of His connection. A plant must be properly cultivated and pruned, lest it become a parasite to the seedlings beside it.
- While Zelias may be the one directly playing with their pawns, Helianyx watches as they act on their own, only coming in to interfere when needed- or at least, when they decide it's needed.
They treat their fellow aspect deities with respect, although they have some frustration with how some of them act within their domains- but alas, he cannot force any of them to do or not to do anything. They are all equals here, even if he's one of the cardinal aspects. Coworkers once again, with the occasional bombastic side eye.
- Zelias: Opposing Aspect: [same text as zelias' bullet point on helianyx] tldr: married but separated, incredibly snarky.
- Helianyx is one of the few aspect deities who have other deities/supernatural entities that were created by them and also serve under them
- They created the 4 Archangels (Metatron, Uriel, Raphael (name may be changed), Gabriel) mainly as a proof of concept. Syndria's domain was that of Life and Creation, but theirs was Space. Things can occupy and also not occupy space, and in order to occupy space, something needs to have a physical form. Since their body isn't exactly, physical due to being a personification of a specific type of Energy that exists through the actual universe , what if they pinched off a tiiiiiiiiiiny little part of themselves to shape into something physical? They could already create a temporary physical form they could put themselves in, but what if a fraction of themselves could be made into something permanent? So they cut off a small square of the fabric of Space, and sewed it together into four beings. They were originally soulless husks, but with a little assistance from Coetotha and Narceros, they slowly started to learn and gain sentience. Of course, they acted like Heli in the beginning, being their only source of information, but they slowly gained their separate personalities, and that influence from Helianyx slowly faded into only a portion of the people they now were.
- Helianyx decided to categorize them as "Angels", based on the descriptions that humans have given to the beings they called "Angels".
> BREATH
CONNECTION - Paired with BLOOD
The social web of connections and interactions between all entities within the universe. A relationship chart, a social hierarchy, a clan structure, family by choice, strangers. Sure, one does not necessarily need others to survive, but surely connections are beneficial when they have something you don't. It all depends on how you play your cards in this game of trust.
Belaris
- Many entities are social, even if they don't necessarily need it. Sure, survival does not need social connections, just get lost in the bloody mess of feeding on those below you and hiding from those above you. But pure survival does not mean life. Pure survival does not mean an entity will wish to continue on, will have a reason to push onwards to old age. Life is important, but quality of life is equally important. Many species survive due to the ability to form groups, to form connections, to care for one another in order to be cared for in return.
- Humans are absolutely fascinating, with their complex social hierarchies and networks, relationships simple and complex. Utterly... incredible. Some use it for moral good, some for moral evil, many more somewhere in between. So very... moldable. Promises and lies, all intertwined in a delicate loom of social connection.
- They care deeply for their Chosen, even if they may not express it in the... best way for their Chosen. They do not fully understand the careful balance between relationships and self-preservation, and may push their Chosen into sub-optimal decisions that negatively affect their lives.
- But it doesn't matter does it? Their Chosen is living the best life they can using the resources It has given them! They make use of Its Gift to them, allows them to gain mastery over their domain. Their Chosen will make the most out of their Gift. It's only right, after all. Those who glaze over it, toss it to the side, choose to turn away from being the creator of vast webs of cyan thread, turn away from Them? Well, maybe they simply weren't meant to be.
- For their fellow aspect deities, Belaris is pretty friendly, albeit maybe a little too friendly. None are sure of their true intentions, of the thoughts going on behind their glassy eyes.
- Jenirex: Opposing Aspect: imperfect hatred. their domain goes against theirs, strikes down their goals and ideals. Belaris will not tolerate such disrespect, such rigidity. An unstoppable force against the waves of the ocean, the wisps of wind in the breeze, always parting before being hit. Bitter divorce.
> BLOOD
CONNECTION - Paired with BREATH
The physical web of connection. A food web, family by blood, mutualism, parasitism, survival. One must use others in order to survive, one needs substance to survive.
Jenirex
Blood is fuel. Emotions and are have no place in the web of survival, and any social connection is made out of necessity. Existence is a game where only the most robust persist, where only the resilient are given the privilege of life. Only the strong will survive. Only the smart will survive. Only those who are willing to fight, willing to be selfish, willing to take proper action, will survive.
They're indifferent to many things, seeming to be incredibly cold, even to their Avatars and fellow deities.
Humans are so... inefficient. They are one of the most adaptive and persistent organisms on Earth, having conquered nature, the seas, other entities below them, and even themselves. They make use of selfishness, manipulation, corruption, to make sure they climb to the top of whatever societal pyramid they've created, to continue on. And yet, they waste so much time with useless relaionships that have no benefit, inefficient use of their resources and mental capacity, and even going so far as to willingly decrease their odds of survival. Foolish creatures. Utterly incomprehensible.
As for how they treat their Chosen, it's not really that different from anyone else. For Jenirex, a Chosen simply means that one has proved themselves worthy of Their power- a miniscule fraction of it, but Their power nonetheless. An entity that is only somewhat above the standard of their species, but one that they carefully watch from afar.
Sometimes a Chosen will act foolishly. But Jenirex understands the fragility of mortal organisms and the strong pulls of desire. It is not a fault of their Chosen themselves, but simply one that is incredibly difficult to overcome. But it must be overcome regardless. A Blessed will usually be left alone. Possibly lose some amount of control over their incredibly limited share of Their power, but overall stable. But Avatars? Oh. Ohhhhhh... An Avatar is specifically chosen by their hands, an entity carefully observed for potential and then Chosen for that potential. Unable to overcome difficulty cannot be tolerated. But one must be able to have at least a second chance. These entities are trying their hardest to not be swayed by Breath. And yet they Will Not Be Swayed. Jenirex will come take direct action to ensure that their Avatar will not fail, letting them try again once more. If an Avatar chooses to fail again, well, they are not deserving of Their power. An unfortunate lapse of judgement on the Deity's part.
Jenirex is the General of their carefully cultivated army, and they will not tolerate failure.
As for their fellow Aspect Deities, they treat them with polite respect, even if they don't necessarily mean it. Keep the bloody waters calm, after all. There is no need to cause strife with those that do not cause conflict with themselves, especially as the Twelve are fated to remain together for the rest of eternity.
- Belaris: Opposing Aspect: these two despise each other. consumed by hatred, and yet never able to pull apart from the other, stuck in an endless dance, never able to win nor lose. Jenirex feels that Belaris' domain of social connection is inefficient and useless, especially being the major reason behind why his Chosen (specifically Avatars) fail, why they lose so many that have great potential, lost to the desire for inefficient relationships. Uh, bitter divorce or something.
> LIGHT
INFORMATION - Paired with VOID
The concept of knowledge and the presence of information, whether it be truth or lies. Everything is told, and everything is kept. Rumors and myths both hold some amount of truth and some amount of lies.
Paradis
is that the damn sun
Paradis carefully walks along the line between Order and Chaos- or more accurately, the wide, foggy path between the two. The spread of information is important, but what's more interesting to them is exactly how that information is spread. Mortals are able to do incredible things, especially with how humans have made vast collections of knowledge in libraries and achieves, or just keeping a personal journal to write notes in. But spread of knowledge isn't necessarily always... morally good, is it? Spread of information, of rumors, of secrets that were meant to be buried and forgotten, released out in the open. Pandora's box was never sealed, a lid holding everything in. It was meant to be opened. An inevitability. And yet not everything escapes. Some things, still stay inside. A careful balance of self-control.
Paradis treats their Avatars with careful respect, treating them as their own individuals but still keeping them at an arm's reach, making sure that their gift of power can be revoked. Don't need any large egos believing that a mortal could take the place of a god. Sometimes, Paradis forgets that mortal minds might not be able to comprehend everything that they know, and may occassionally overwhelm an Avatar with information. Whoopsies. The Avatar will recover after a few days, but excessive occurances of this, Information Beamed Directly To Brain might lead to the Avatar's mind becoming somewhat unstable. They try to be helpful to their Avatars, providing them with resources when they come to an impasse in their goals.
To the other Aspect Deities, Paradis is quiet and reserved, They prefer to be on their own, remaining in their own domain, left alone to be in peace. They are sometimes frustrated with the uncertainty of some of the other deity's motivations, but as long as the others don't impact them, they will leave the rest of them alone.
- Lilith: Opposing Aspect: Well. That's a creature. Sometimes annoying and loud, but Lilith is one of the only aspect deities that they're willing to tolerate for more than a few minutes. Lilith understands the careful balance between opposing aspects, understanding that the pair needs to coexist in order to exist at all. The two of them are carefully maintained machinery, each piece moving in time and precision, requiring both their gears to make the whole function.
> VOID
INFORMATION - Paired with VOID
The concept of secrets and the absence of information, whether it be withheld, forgotten, or erased. Maybe it's better for the truth to be hidden, to die with its holder.
Lilith
thats a whole Creature. anyway
Lilith is one of the Aspect Deities who greatly enjoys Chaos, embracing it as it intertwines with their domain of Void. They are by no means benevolent, but they know how to keep a sense of self-control. After all, if everyone is made to turn against each other through misunderstanding and withholding of key information, there would eventually be too many secrets, too many lies, so little trust, and everything would become so... predictable. There needs to be a balance between Light and Void, and even though Void is their domain, it's not fun when one has a good idea of how things will play out.
Their main chosen form tends to be more beastlike, albeit still remaining generally humanoid. They're one of the Aspect Deities who choose to switch between many "physical" forms, finding freedom in being able to change into monstrous versions of existing creatures (with the exception of deer. Osrillion gets to keep the deer imagery).
Humans are the most entertaining mortals to observe, aren't they? So many have made schemes to betray another, to misinform, to disinform, or even just to throw around a little fun. Deliberate withholding of details, whether it to keep someone safe or to keep someone in the dark, a complex web of lies and truth, carefully women between vast networks of individuals. How fascinating! They're grabbing some popcorn and watching the play unfold on the stage.
Their Chosen are seemingly random, albeit there's some kind of logic hidden in the mind of the Deity. Maybe it's due to Lilith just taking interest in a mortal, maybe they know something more unconscious that lies with the potential Avatar's mind.
Lilith is pretty snarky with the rest of the Aspect Deities, having respect for the rest of their pantheon, but not enough to be outwardly respectful. You get this much and no more. Bleh.
- Paradis: Opposing Aspect: These two are sort of like married out of obligation. Neither feel much affection nor care for each other, but they are fated to be intertwined, being yin and yang, being opposite sides of the same coin buried in a book deep within the archives of the universe. They can tolerate each other and will assist each other when needed, but it's only to maintain the delicate dance they've found themselves in, making sure that neither of them make a misstep, allowing the waltz to continue in perfect time.
> LIFE
REBIRTH - Paired with DOOM
The concept of creation, whether it be artificial or natural. Does not necessarily mean peace.
Syndria
- Many who learn about Syndria will expect her to be a benevolent god, one similar to the idea of "Mother Nature", being a deity of creation, of life, letting the lands be lush with both flora and fauna. Well, this is technically true. She is quite kind and empathetic to the plight of mortality, but there is a fundamental misunderstanding of what her domain of Life entails. Life is Creation, but Creation is not always "good". Creation also means the creation of weapons, the creation of natural disasters, the creation of items that have disastrous side effects. Syndria will look on from above, fostering creation, but there is no difference in the way she looks at creators with good or bad intentions.
- Mortals are curious entities. They all know that they will meet their end, and yet they choose to spend that time living and creating. Not every mortal creates something grand. And they don't have to.
- Humans are the most interesting. Capable of creating so much and so little all at the same time, being able to go beyond what many other mortal species could. A human could make a safe environment for a friend, create art, food, tools, countless things that may never see the light of day or may be put into the spotlight for generations. Syndria is proud of them. She may not have been the one to directly create every single species, but she carefully watches their development nonetheless.
- Her Chosen are carefully picked, where most who have enough potential to become a Chosen under her domain tend to overlap heavily with the domain of Light. Those who will be Blessed don't have that much of an issue, but Avatars have to be closely scrutinized for their potential and what they wish to do with such power. To her Chosen, Syndria usually seems to resemble a detached caretaker, where she deeply cares for her Chosen, but may not fully understand the weight of morality that comes with having a limited lifespan. Regardless, she'll try her best.
- Syndria is very friendly with her fellow aspect deities, despite her disapproval of some of their actions. However, there are the Twelve of them for a reason. Each domain was made to be separate, even if there are overlaps, but each Deity watches over their own Domain and there is no place for her to tell another how to do their job. Some advice may be given, but she cannot force action to be taken.
- Osrillion: Opposing Aspect: she greatly enjoys their company, being able to talk freely about anything and everything, knowing that they will be listened to, even if they may not fully understand her ideas. Maybe it's also because their domains are so intertwined, one leading to the other in an endless cycle of rebirth, where the two of them understand each other and their domains more closely than any other pair in the pantheon. (tapping her skull against all four of Osrillion's skulls. bonk bonk bonk bonk) Happily married.
> DOOM
REBIRTH - Paired with LIFE
The concept of death, whether it be inflicted by another, inflicted by oneself, or a inevitability. Does not necessarily mean destruction.
Osrillion
- Despite being the deity of death and destruction, Osrillion is not as heartless as many expect them to be. Instead, the pair of Doom and Life are the most understanding to the plight of mortality amongst the Twelve, having directly interacted with many entities that roam and have roamed the earth.
- Humans are persistent, aren't they? Knowing that they eventually will have to face death, sooner or later, and yet choosing to make the most out of life. And yet, sometimes they choose to still wage war and destruction, destroying the things they and their ancestors have made, all for... some reasons lost on the god. While he does not understand the reason for destruction, he will watch over the fight regardless, watching over the souls that are quickly picked up by the Fox and Bunny. Despite it all, many will continue on, won't they? Choose to keep going, doing what they love.
- Osrillion has many Chosen, being one of the deities who has given their gift to the most entities, saving numerous souls from their Time running out- or at least, delaying it for a decent amount. Maybe too many entities. Regardless, they can only choose a limited number of Avatars despite his sympathy for one's plight, but there is no doubt that Osrillion makes sure that nearly all Avatar positions under his domain are filled.
- They originally had no face at all, being completely headless, but over time, they took interest in the personification of death that mortal entities started to create, and started adding skulls to be their visage (deer, human, crow, wolf). They sometimes switch out the skulls in their carosel of a face, but they personally enjoy the deer skull the best. Antlers are pretty.
- For his fellow aspect deities, Osrillion is pretty cordial, having adopted much of the humanity of those he watches over and cares for. While he doesn't approve of some of their actions and perspective on their Chosen, each of them have their own domains for a reason and each of them have full power over their own domain. He can't and won't tell others how to rule.
- Syndria: Opposing Aspect: they greatly enjoy her company. the two domains are very intertwined, as when one ends the other begins, and neither could exist without the other. Osrillion greatly enjoys her company, being one of the only other deities who have more than a shred of humanity, and at least understands his perspective on mortal entities. happy married. (will do the goat head butt thing bc they both have skulls for a face. bonkening.)
> MIND
COGNITION - Paired with HEART

COGNITION - Paired with MIND
The concept of emotional reasoning and The Self/Individual.
[MIND & HEART have the unique quality of both being realted to the Perception of The Self from the self as well asfrom others. Equal amount of influence from both HEART & MIND.]
Narceros
- > - oooooooh boy. oh boy. gaslight gatekeep girlboss mansplain manipulate manslaughter. they get all of them
- Narceros is the most capricious of all the deities, being both incredibly impulsive as well as selfish- or at least as selfish as a deity who has all they want within their possession can be- and one who won't let *anything* get in the way of their plans. Well, anyone who they don't want to piss off.
- Emotions are the driver of a *lot* of decisions made by mortals. Sure, logic also plays a part, but pure *impulse* is ingrained in every fiber of mortals, making them born to be driven by emotion, by anger, by happiness, by selfishness. Logic drives a wedge into some of these natural chains of events. Sure, logic results in methodical ways of going about things, but emotion is so much more chaotic. So much stronger. The power that goes behind a punch comes from adrenaline, not thinking about the most optimal angle to be paired with velocity.
- Mortals are sooooooooo funny~
- Having the capacity to both ruin and rejuvenate their lives, being able to change so much and also do nothing at all! Chaos, misinformation, power, `pure emotion`. It's lovely to watch, to sometimes give that additional little push to the domino in the middle of the line that missed the next block by a hair.
- Narceros treats their Avatars as playthings. Avatars are their own entities, yes, but entities can all be manipulated into playing their roles the *right* way. To be pushed into taking one crucial action that sets the stage for the rest of the story. They won't break their Avatars, no, that'd be incredibly wasteful. Each Avatar is carefully picked out, after all. Wouldn't want to just throw away a piece of gold from the lake.
- To the other Aspect Deities, Narceros simply smiles and waves. They find everyone so incredibly fascinating to observe, but not exactly to interact with. After all, some of them are so *unpredictable*, staying out of their grasp.
- Coetotha: Opposing aspect: Oh. Ohohohoho what a *bastard*, spoiling all their fun. Yes, each aspect has its opposite. Yes, there must be a balance. Yes, yes, yes, whatever. They can have their balance over there instead of over here. Float on over there across the courtyard, away from me. I don't want to talk to you, you don't want to talk to me, let's keep it like that. `Stay out of my way.`
